@skalman Network card needed proprietary firmware (so Debian wasn't helpful, initially, though I could probably have made it work), and US is JACK capable in a very nice way. I do a lot of music and audio things, so not having to configure that and getting all the programs installed is a plus.

Also, I do some photography though I haven't kept up with the software, and getting State-of-the-Art stuff directly so I can see what works and what doesn't for me is nice.

Finally, as touchscreen stuff is fairly new, the glacial pace of Debian Stable (or even testing) isn't likely to let me utilize it too heavily.

So, multitouch screen gestures on linux, any experience or advice? I'm on Ubuntu Studio, which seems to be opening up for a KDE option for the coming release in October, meaning there will be somewhat better support, as far as I understand it.

Still, if you've got experience from other WMs or such that'd be great!

Yesterday I tried games/julius (https://github.com/bvschaik/julius/issues/13) ,a new Caesar III GPLed re-implementation, and it's fantastic. Already available on #FreeBSD and #OpenBSD ports tree, hope to see a #pkgsrc/wip package too any time soon
