@tobias @windigo still doesn't work with sites which do not support the XMPP style commands, though, like quitter.se
-
Is there some easy way to copy followers from one !gnusocial account to another? Just to follow the same people here as on my other account.

@sazius http://diekershoff.de/tobias/2011-03-30/three-month-of-statusnet-from-home - Bottom of page is a python script. /cc @tobias
-
@windigo oh, that's right... I've used @tobias script many times, just forgot about it :-) Thanks!
-
@nds in case you didn't see @windigo 's link: http://diekershoff.de/tobias/2011-03-30/three-month-of-statusnet-from-home

@nds @sazius Saints do all the work; @tobias is the saint. I guess that makes me a missionary? :D
-
@tobias @windigo I'm not sure. At least on Quitter the hack doesn't work since XMPP is not enabled here.
-
@tobias OK, that's weird. At least when I try that command on Quitter.se it results in an HTTP 500 error. Cc: @hannes2peer
-
@tobias @hannes2peer I just tested with social.mayfirst.org which is a non-Qvitter GNU Social node, and there the "XMPP hack" works.
-
@tobias @hannes2peer It's possible the XMPP stuff has been ripped out or disabled if the plugin isn't used. That would make sense :-)
-
@tobias @hannes2peer Ideally there should be a real API for it, not an XMPP hack :-)
-
@tobias True :-)
-
@shevek at least in theory it should be possible without asking the admins for help :-)
-
@tobias @windigo I made an updated version of the script here: https://saz.im/software/downloads/sn_sync.py - now works with > 100 followers
-
@tobias @windigo BTW it now shows "Last posted in X days", which is useful when deciding whether to follow or not :-)
-
@tobias @sazius Keep changing that script, and you're eventually going to just have a full !gs server written in python. :D
-
@windigo @tobias Good idea :-)
-
@sazius I'd use it - and I'm pretty sure @mmn has shown interest, if only in a joking way. :D
-
@sazius afaik xmpp has been disabled for performance reasons on a day when several hundred new users had joined. Not related to !qvitter ui.
-
@tobias it does have a few more Python module dependencies than the original script, though :-)
-
@mcscx Yeah, that could be the case. Although it seems to work on normal GNU Social instances which also do not have XMPP enabled.
